Finding a palette that fits your project

How the library is organised

The library collects curated and generated color palettes, each with its HEX codes ready to copy and its colors resolved to their nearest named matches. Browse by mood and tag — ocean, sunset, retro, pastel, corporate — or search by the name of a color you already have in mind. Every palette opens on its own page with conversions for each slot.

Choosing well, not just pretty

A palette that looks good as five swatches can still fail as an interface. Before committing, decide the job of each slot: the largest surfaces want the quietest color, text wants the darkest or lightest, and the most saturated slot should be rationed to accents and calls to action. Open the palette in Studio to expand it into ramps and tokens, and run your intended text/background combinations through the contrast checker — a palette with no pair above 4.5:1 cannot carry body text, whatever it looks like here.

Names help you talk about color

Each slot links to its page in the color names encyclopedia, where you can see the color's family, conversions and near neighbours. Named colors are easier to discuss with clients and teammates than raw HEX, and the encyclopedia is the fastest way to find a slightly warmer, duller or darker variant of a color that is almost right.

From Explore to shipped tokens

1) Filter by mood or hue until a system feels right. 2) Open the palette page and copy HEX for a quick trial, or jump to Studio for roles and exports. 3) Check the pairs you will actually put on type in the contrast checker. 4) If nothing fits, generate from a brand hex in Pairs or pull colors from a photo with Extract.

Explore is built for design engineers who need a free OKLCH starting point without a Coolors-style paywall on export. Palettes stay browsable; the value is opening them in tools that speak CSS and Tailwind.

What “10,000+ OKLCH palettes” actually means

The archive mixes curated systems and generated OKLCH-native sets sized for product UI (typically 2–10 colors), not endless random hex dumps. Tag hubs help crawlers and humans find intent clusters — pastel UI, dark dashboards, brand-ready four-color sets — while quality gates keep thin or duplicate tails out of the index until the domain is ready.

Frequently asked questions

What is the Colorise Pro palette explorer?
Explore is a free library of 10,000+ OKLCH color systems for product UI and branding. Filter by hue and mood, open any palette in Studio, or copy HEX values instantly — no signup.
Can I use Explore palettes in Tailwind or CSS?
Yes. Open a palette in Studio to export Tailwind @theme, CSS variables, and DTCG tokens, or copy HEX/OKLCH from the palette page for a quick hand-off.
How is this different from Coolors?
Explore is OKLCH-native and built for design engineers: contrast-aware workflows, token exports, and no paywall on core palette use. See the Coolors comparison page for a fair side-by-side.
Are the palettes free to use commercially?
Yes. Browse, copy HEX values, and export tokens for personal or commercial product UI. You own the colors you ship; Colorise Pro does not claim rights to exported palettes.
How do I open a palette in Studio?
Open any palette page and use Open in Studio (or the Studio link from Explore). Roles, contrast, and Tailwind/CSS/DTCG export continue from the same colors.
Can I filter by mood or hue?
Yes. Use tags such as ocean, sunset, pastel, or corporate, and hue filters to narrow the 10,000+ OKLCH systems before you commit to a set.
Explore vs generating my own palette?
Explore is for starting from a known-good combination. If you already have a brand hex, start in Studio or Pairs. If your colors live in a photo or a live site, use Extract or Brand from URL first.
